PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography has always been a passion of mine from a young age, therefore being able to pursuing it all throughout my time at University as part of the broad course was a big plus for me. This has allowed to me explore a range of different photography genres and techniques.

Below I have showcased some of the work I have produced over the past three years at University which I am very proud of.

FASHION AND BEAUTY

In my second year of university I chose a fashion photography module. For this shoot I chose to a mixture of both fashion and beauty photography as I have a keen interest for both; doing studio and location shoots. This module was a great opportunity to collaborate with other creatives as I had to organise and source my own makeup artist, hair stylist and model.

This module has helped me gain valuable skills on how to work independently in the photography industry but also helped me improve on key technical and software skills.

All the images were shot on a Canon 400D DSLR camera and edited using a mixture of photoshop and Lightroom CC

Below are a selection of images I shot and edited for this module:

MY CITY

'My City' was a photography project I completed in 2018 based around capturing a city of your choice - mine being Birmingham. I chose night photography as it was something I'd never done before and I was eager to expand my knowledge. My aim was to capture how areas in Birmingham can change into something different entirely when lit up.

This project really allowed me to get creative and explore different techniques through my own research. But also taught me to work more organised and efficiently as I only had a couple hours of light to work with.

Below are the 'My City' images I shot:

UNIVERSITY TRIPS

University has provided me with different opportunities to go aboard, part of #BCUmediaontour and #domediadifferently as seen in my images below of New York and Amsterdam.

The New York trip in particular I was working to a client brief - this being Philip Young, part of BCU School of Media. We were asked to produce promotional material to show future students how field trips broadened their experience and opened their eyes to new opportunities. We were given full creative control which has massively improved on my skills of working to a clients needs.

Below is a selection of images from both trips to New York (2019) and Amsterdam (2018):

NATURE

Nature photography has always stood out for me as I really enjoy the colours and contrast between different textures. I wanted to try it out myself using different techniques I had learnt from university and implementing them into my own independent work.

Below are a small range of images i have taken in my free time:
